Hi I am Laura Malkin - a Sports Photographer from Stone in Staffordshire.
"Do something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. Sport and Photography are my two big passions in life- combine the two and you have the ideal career! A career where you can follow the growth of the sporting great- photograph them when they are young athletes starting out in their sport right through to them competing for their country. You get to photograph the best times in athletes lives and the worst- photos they can look back on for years to come and inspire their kids and grandkids to follow in their footsteps as well as total strangers.
I have always been sport mad and this career path allows me to combine my two biggest passions; sport and photography.
I have grown up playing sport at a good level and feel I have developed a good eye for a photo and a great deal of anticipation of things about to happen during games.
I work 3 days a week as aMedia Executive. The rest of my time is spent working as a freelance Sports Photographer . I work for many different agencies trying to cover as many different sports as possible to gain more experience. I work with Epic Action Imagery on a Self Employed basis shooting Obstacle Racing and have worked at Spartan, Tough Mudder and Bear Grylls Survival Races amongst others. Other agencies include; GameFace Media (on behalf of EPIC)- Tough Mudder/North London Half Marathon, F stop Photography (Mo-Run races/Schools cross country), Marathon Photo- road races, Glenn Curley Photography (OCR/24hr events/42k ultra marathons), Mick Hall Photo (Road Races), AWOL and Dave Hawtin (Triathlon)
More recently i have started working for Propaganda Photo shooting the Wales Womens team.
My aim is to shoot sport full time and travel the world- cricket is a massive passion of mine so to be able to shoot that abroad in the winter would be perfect for me!
