Hi I am Laura Malkin - a Sports Photographer from Stone in Staffordshire.
"Do something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. Sport and Photography are my two big passions in life. It is a career where you can follow the growth of the sporting great- photograph them when they are young athletes starting out in their sport right through to them competing for their country. You get to photograph the best times in athletes lives and the worst- photos they can look back on for years to come and inspire their kids and grandkids to follow in their footsteps as well as total strangers.
I have always been sport mad and this career path allows me to combine my two biggest passions; sport and photography.
I have grown up playing sport at a good level and feel I have developed a good eye for a photo and a great deal of anticipation of things about to happen during games. I first picked up a camera properly in 2016. I started off going round my local clubs to practice and then started getting paid to shoot obstacle races. 2017 was the first year i was paid for what i call 'proper' sports such as football and i went from having 3/4 events in the last year to 100 paid events in 2017.
I work 3 days a week as a Media Executive for the high-end British cylinder mower manufacturer ALLETT MOWERS. The rest of my time is spent working as a freelance Sports Photographer . I work for many different agencies trying to cover as many different sports as possible to gain more experience.
Examples of agencies worked for: Epic Action Imagery (OCR), Propaganda Photo (Football), Stoke City FC (Assistant club photographer on a home matchday)
